It’s a hard knock life….not for us!

31 Jan

Hello hello hello! How are we all? I hope you’re well and you’ve had a fantastic week. I’d just like to start by actually patting myself on the back for returning to my beautiful blog. I’ve come back like the committed cat I am (much to my belief that I would forget, so yay me!) and this week I’m here to talk about positive mental attitude!

Too often than not, we as humans do like to feel sorry for ourselves. Sometimes a little too much. I swear it’s a British thing. Why are we so committed to putting ourselves down and being moaning minnies!? Whether it’s a situation to do with a job or an ongoing relationship on the rocks, I feel like all we do is recluse into our little bubble of denial and refuse to believe that anything can change or be better. Of course, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t guilty of it from time to time – it’s natural! But dya know what kids? I’ve had enough of it being a constant thing in mine and people’s lives and it’s time to put a stop to it! I feel a massive passion towards this type of topic and I think it’s so incredibly important to push the positive out into the world. We live in a world with too much negativity so let’s spread the word!

Gratitude and being appreciative is one of the main things that I believe contributes to a healthy mental attitude. There are so many reasons to be grateful for what you’ve got so lets make a list of all the fab things there are in life (big or small!) and make a pact to remind ourselves of them when we’re feeling a little bit poopy:

  1. Oxygen. (woah deep.) No but seriously, you’re breathing oxygen and you’re actually alive?! Go outside and embrace that good ole fresh air!
  2. CAKE EXISTS. Do I need to elaborate?
  3. Music. Where would we be without music? I know I certainly wouldn’t be a functioning 22 year old without it. Music can speak a million words at times and relating to the lyrics or the melody of a song can lift you out of your mardy self so blast some tunes!
  4. Family and Friends – although they may do your tits in at times (soz), be happy that you have people you can be yourself around or share your thoughts with!
  5. Adventures. You may not have the money to travel half way across the world, but there is always adventure lurking anywhere! It could be around the corner from your house and you might not even know it. It could be a train or a even a plane journey away. There is so much to explore in this world and it’s so exciting planning the endless opportunities! Get on google, get a world map and go somewhere!!
  6. Going through a breakup? Ladies, there is one simple solution. You go to google and you type the following words: “Zac Efron. Shirtless.” You’re welcome.
  7. Did I mention how great cake was? Carrot cake is particularly fabulous..
  8. TV series/Netflix – most times when we feel sorry for ourselves, we do tend to curl up in a duvet and binge watch netflix, BUT how about turning it around and actually appreciating all the great series that exist!? Don’t treat it like a distraction, treat it as something fun and exciting! My love for Pretty Little Liars at the moment is on another level and this makes me very happy and excited to watch it. (Ps – if anyone is watching it, comment below who you think the new murderer is!?!?!! AHHH!)
  9. Puppies. Puppies are cute…like too cute.
  10. Zac Efron’s cute too.
  11. DANCING. Honestly, whether you’re a complete dad dancer or you’ve got Beyonce moves for daaaays, go out and freaking DANCE. Life is fantastic when you dance – it makes you forget about everything!
  12. Boring job getting you down? Fear not! Remember that the internet is a porthole for endless job ads. You are not stuck in that place forever – you have the power to change your path to wherever it is you want to go.
  13. Afternoon Tea is one of the most fabulous things in life. Mini cakes, mini sandwiches and just mini everything. Miniature things are the cutest.
  14. Pizza is also great. Like, very fucking great.

So you get the gist right??! I’m sure there are a million individual things that you all have that make you happy. It could be a sport that you play or a hobby you have, but there are great things in life that keep us going.

I really am an advocate for positive mental attitude (PMA!) and would hope that someone reading this can take something positive from it. We need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves, get off our bottoms and sort it out!

Finding inspiration is a big help also. I love to watch fantastic youtubers like Louise Pentland (Sprinkle of Glitter) or Zoe Sugg (Zoella) who are such great role models for younger girls. They strive for confidence and achievement and achieve they do! Watching dancers makes me so excited too and just generally being around people who have a passion for something is amazing.

I am not someone who is afraid of trying new things. It can be daunting but I feel like it’s important to push ourselves. Sometimes, you learn about the things you don’t like and sometimes you learn about the things you do. If there’s one thing I do know, then it’s never to give up! When life gets ya down and you start to moan, don’t let it consume you. Make the changes if you can and find a way to move on and be happy! 🙂

If you have any tips and tricks of maintaing a positive mental attitude then let me know in the comments below!

Thank you for reading and ciao for now! x
